From Silver Master to Master de Platine: the grand cycle of Masters de Feu
Silver Masters, Gold Masters and then Master de Platine: discover the grand cycle imagined by Masters de Feu and the path leading the best pyrotechnicians to the ultimate title.

Each year, Masters de Feu brings together leading pyrotechnic houses in Compiègne for an international competition. But behind every edition lies a much broader story.
The Silver Master awarded at the end of an evening is more than just an annual prize. It is the first step in a journey leading to the Gold Master and, ultimately, to the highest title: the Platinum Master.
Since 2016, Masters de Feu has been building a competition designed around several cycles, several finals, and more than a decade of pyrotechnic creations.
The Silver Master, the first step toward the final
The Silver Master rewards the display chosen by the jury during an annual edition of Masters de Feu.
Over three consecutive years, three houses each win this title. Beyond the trophy, their victory above all qualifies them for the cycle’s Grand Final.
The three Silver Masters then return to the skies above Compiègne for a new showdown. They are no longer defending only one creation: they are competing for the Gold Master.
Each edition therefore counts twice over. It crowns the best display of the evening, while also opening the door for its winner to a far rarer event.
2016–2019: the first Masters de Feu cycle
The first cycle begins with the creation of Masters de Feu.
In 2016, the Italian houseParente Fireworkswins the very first Silver Master in the competition’s history. It is joined in 2017 by the Greek houseNanos Fireworks, then in 2018 by the French companyGrand Final.
These three winners meet again in 2019 for the first Gold Master Grand Final.
At the end of this showdown,Grand Finalprevails and becomes the first Gold Master in Masters de Feu history. The French house thus completes the first two stages of the journey: the Silver Master won in 2018, then the Gold Master secured the following year.
2022–2025: a second Gold Master
A new selection cycle opens in 2022.
The Swiss houseSUGYPwon the 2022 Silver Master. In 2023, the title went to the German companyPyrogenie Feuerwerk GmbH. Finland then completed the final lineup thanks toJoHo Pyrowinning in 2024.
The three qualified houses then met in Compiègne in 2025 for a new Grand Final.
After three creations designed for this showdown,Pyrogenie Feuerwerk GmbHwon the 2025 Gold Master. The German house thus became the second champion in this great story, six years after Grand Final’s victory.
Two Gold Masters are now known. One more is still needed to open the final stage.
2026–2029: the third road to Gold
The third cycle began in September 2026.
For its debut at Masters de Feu, the Dutch houseXENA Pyrotechnicswon the Silver Master as well as the Public Prize. It becomes the first team qualified for the 2029 Grand Final.
In 2027, a new competition will determine the second Silver Master of the cycle. A third winner will join them in 2028.
These three houses will then meet in 2029 to try to win the third Gold Master in Masters de Feu history.
As in previous cycles, each will reach the final with its own culture, expertise and distinctive approach to pyrotechnic storytelling. But only one will join Grand Final and Pyrogenie Feuerwerk at the top of the roll of honour.
The Platinum Master, the competition’s ultimate summit
The story will not end with the 2029 Grand Final.
Since their creation, Masters de Feu have been designed around a three-tier progression: Silver, Gold and Platinum.
Three Silver Masters make it possible to build a Gold Master final. By the same logic, three Gold Masters will pave the way to the Platinum Master.
This ultimate showdown will therefore bring together:
- Grand Final, Gold Master 2019 ;
- Pyrogenie Feuerwerk GmbH, Gold Master 2025 ;
- the winner of theGold Master 2029.
For the first time, three houses that have already triumphed in a Grand Final will be brought together in the same competition. Each will have won a Silver Master, passed the Gold Master challenge and marked a chapter in the history of the event.
The Platinum Master will therefore not only reward the best show of an evening. It will decide between the three winners of the major Masters de Feu cycles.
A story written across generations of shows
This structure gives the Masters de Feu their singular character.
A house may enter the competition in one annual edition, win a Silver Master, return several years later to conquer the Gold Master, and finally join the contest for the Platinum Master.
Each victory thus becomes a chapter in a longer story. Each finalist carries with them the memory of their first participation, their qualification and the show that enabled them to reach the next level.
For the audience too, this progression builds a true collective memory. The creations follow one another, styles are set against each other and the winners become the protagonists of a story that continues year after year.
Each edition brings the Masters de Feu closer to Platinum
The next stage will take place onSaturday 25 September 2027at the Hippodrome de Compiègne.
That evening, a new Silver Master will be proclaimed. Its winner will join XENA Pyrotechnics among the qualifiers for 2029 and may continue on their path to the Platinum Master.
For at the Masters de Feu, every show can be the beginning of a much greater adventure.
Three Silver Masters give birth to a Gold Master. Three Gold Masters will pave the way to the Platinum Master.
